I build MCP servers and tools for plant genomics and for doing research with LLMs, and computer-vision models for orchids. The tools are collected on the MCP Servers page and the vision work under Orchid Vision; everything is open source on GitHub.

Jaret graduated from Kent State University with a B.S. in Biotechnology in 2022. There he worked with Dr. Andrea Case on the Lobelia genus, visualizing phenotypic diversity across North American species by digitally reconstructing herbarium specimens — written up as Lobelia Silhouettes.

In Fall 2024 Jaret began the GBCB PhD program at Virginia Tech. He joined Dr. Clay Wright’s lab in Spring of 2025 and is coadvised by Dr. David Haak. Jaret is focused on applications of computer vision, artificial intelligence, and data science to plant science and agriculture. Besides plant science, Jaret enjoys spending time with his orchid collection and coding.
